Organization status (Canadian not-for-profit transparency)

SyriaInsight.ca is operated as a public-interest research and information initiative. Unless and until we publish a Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) registration number on this page:

• We do not present ourselves as a registered charity under the Income Tax Act.
• We do not issue official donation tax receipts.
• We do not solicit funds on this website as charitable donations.
• “Support” on this site means informational triage, not case management, legal representation, or a guaranteed service level.

If corporate or society registration details are added later (for example, incorporation under a provincial Societies Act or federal not-for-profit corporation), they will be listed here with the legal name and jurisdiction. Until then, treat SyriaInsight as an independent research project brand, not a CRA-registered charity.

Canadian research and editorial standards

For public policy and legal-information content, we follow these practices aligned with Canadian public-sector source discipline and research integrity expectations:

• Primary before secondary: Legal and sanctions facts cite Global Affairs Canada, Justice Laws, and Canada Gazette before commentary.
• Traceable claims: Material numbers and regulatory changes include a link to the originating official page and a review date.
• Distinguish analysis from law: Interpretive framing (for example, “bankability”) is labelled as operational context, not statutory text.
• No undisclosed advocacy as fact: Where content supports public-interest advocacy, we keep it separate from official-source summaries.
• Human review gate: Compliance-sensitive pages are reviewed by a human editor before production publication.
• Corrections: If an official source changes, we update the page and the “last reviewed” date. Email corrections to hello@syriainsight.ca.
• Content change log: Material site updates are recorded on the content change log (research transparency — not a legal bulletin).

This site does not conduct human-participant research governed by the Tri-Council Policy Statement (TCPS 2). If we later run surveys or interviews, we will disclose ethics and consent practices before collecting personal research data.
